I am honored to serve as a Woman in Blue for the Cancer Wellness Foundation. As a medical oncologist serving patients in Montgomery, I see every day how cancer touches not just one life, but entire families. Colon cancer is especially powerful in that it is one of the most preventable cancers, yet too many people are still diagnosed at advanced stages. Too often, colorectal cancer is found too late. And the hardest part is this: it doesn’t have to be. I am inspired by the strength of the patients I care for, their resilience, their courage, and their determination to keep moving forward. I chose to be a Woman in Blue for the patients who show up with quiet courage, for the caregivers who never leave their side. Cancer Wellness Foundation of Central Alabama provides critical support beyond medical treatment, helping patients feel seen and supported. Together, we can raise awareness, encourage screening, and make sure no one in our community fights alone.
