I am incredibly honored to be selected as one of this year’s Women in Blue, standing alongside an inspiring group of women united for such an important cause. Cancer is something no one can outrun—it touches all of us in some way, whether through a loved one, a friend, a coworker, or even a stranger whose story we encounter. What once felt like a distant diagnosis seems to hit closer to home with each passing year.
This past year, we lost our beloved News Director at WSFA to cancer. During his year-long battle, I witnessed people from all walks of life come together in unwavering support. Although he ultimately lost his fight, his journey reminded so many of us that compassion, community, and steadfast support are powerful forces in the face of unimaginable challenges.
The Cancer Wellness Foundation represents this same sentiment—ensuring that every individual facing cancer receives the care, encouragement, and resources they need during one of life’s most difficult seasons, along with promoting early detection and cancer screening.
